Hastings and Prince Edward Counties, January 30, 2025 – The annual fundraising campaign formerly known as Toonies for Tummies has a fresh new name! The Make Happy Tummies campaign kicks off today, with local grocery stores rallying together to support the Food for Learning program locally.
With the first stage of this campaign running from January 30 to February 14, 2025, at Metro and Food Basics stores this initiative ensures that all funds raised in the community stay local, directly benefiting students in need.
Throughout the campaign, shoppers at participating grocery stores will have the opportunity to donate at checkout. Every contribution, no matter the amount, helps provide nutritious meals and snacks to students, ensuring they can focus on learning without the distraction of hunger.
“The support from our community is truly incredible,” said Jenn Barrett of the Hastings and Prince Edward Learning Foundation. “With every donation, we’re making a real difference in the lives of students right here at home. No child should have to try and learn on an empty stomach.”
