More Ways to Support
The Hastings and Prince Edward Learning Foundation depends on the communities we serve for support to be able to make a difference in the lives of students.
Monetary Donation
Monetary donations are also accepted by phone or mail.
Other options: See “Pre-Authorized Debit” below.
Pre-Authorized Debit
Monthly contributions, through a Pre-Authorized Debit plan, are an easy, and meaningful way to support our student programs. A tax receipt for your monthly contributions will be provided in December.
Please download and complete the form below and send to kbrace@hpedsb.on.ca.
Payroll Deduction (HPEDSB Employees Only)
Payroll deduction is one of the easiest ways for Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board employees to support The Learning Foundation. By completing a Payroll Deduction form, contributions will be automatically deducted from your pay, and reflected on your T4 at the end of the year.
Please download and complete the form below and send to kbrace@hpedsb.on.ca.
Note: This option is only available to employees of the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board.
In-Kind Donations
A tax receipt can be issued for in-kind donations (e.g. prizes, products, equipment) equal to the fair market value of the property donated. To process in-kind donations a written invoice or other supporting documents are needed that can determine the fair market value of the in-kind donation. Gift Certificates and services are not eligible for tax receipts.
To further discuss an in-kind donation, please call Kellie Brace at 613-966-1170 ext. 62232 or email kbrace@hpedsb.on.ca.
Planned Giving
Gifts That Will Last Forever: How To Support Students Through Your Estate.
Wills and Charitable Bequests
A charitable bequest made through your will is a simple and impactful way of giving. A bequest in a will may allow you to leave a more substantial gift to the Foundation than you would have been able to give during your lifetime. In your will, you can choose to leave The Learning Foundation a specific piece of property, securities, cash or a percentage of your estate.
Your support will help students so that every child can reach their fullest potential.
Other Benefits include:
- Satisfaction of providing a future gift while retaining control of your assets during your lifetime.
- A charitable receipt to your estate.
- Reduction or elimination of estate taxes through careful planning.
- An opportunity to honour or memorialize a loved one or yourself by establishing a named endowment fund.
If you would like to remember The Learning Foundation in your will, some sample wording you may wish to use is:
Residual Gift In Your Will
“My estate trustees shall pay_______% of the residue of my estate to The Hastings and Prince Edward Learning Foundation, Belleville, ON, for the purpose of supporting the highest priority needs as determined by The Foundation.”
Specific Gift In Your Will
“My estate trustees shall pay the sum of $______ (or transfer assets with an equal value) to The Hastings and Prince Edward Learning Foundation, Belleville, ON, for the purpose of supporting the highest priority needs as determined by The Foundation.”
Leaving a gift in your will is simple: Speak to your lawyer about drafting or revising your will or adding a codicil. Letting us know that you have made a bequest allows us the opportunity to thank you today and ensure that your gift can accomplish what you would like it to.
Gifts of Securities
