Volunteers Needed!
Help nourish young minds with the Food for Learning Program
Prepare healthy meals and snacks. No experience necessary! Whether you’re retired, have a flexible schedule, or just want to give back to your community, your time can help fuel both bodies and brains.
Student nutrition programs are about more than just meals — they provide the nutrition students need to learn, grow, and thrive. We’re looking for compassionate, dependable volunteers to help ensure every child has access to a healthy lunch.
Just 2–3 hours a week can make a world of difference in the lives of local students.
Volunteer duties may include:
-
Practicing safe food handling and maintaining clean workspaces
-
Preparing and serving meals or replenishing snack bins
-
Assisting with food prep, setup, and clean-up
-
Supporting the site Food for Learning coordinator with purchasing healthy food
As a Food for Learning volunteer, you’ll have the opportunity to:
-
Experience firsthand the powerful impact that healthy, nutritious foods have on students’ learning and well-being
-
Contribute to the development of healthy eating habits
-
Help support increased student achievement
-
Interact with children in a meaningful way
-
Feel the joy and fulfillment that comes from community involvement
Please note that a Vulnerable Sector Check through the OPP will be required.
